Being Little is a Thing of the Past

We took Jude to the doctor on Friday and we were more than thrilled with the report we received. He now weighs 19 pounds 12 ounces and is 28 1/4 inches long. That puts him in the 40%ile for weight and 50%ile for height. This is compared to kids born in April. If we were to compare him to kids born in July, he would be in the 80%ile for weight and the 97%ile for height. We are going to have a big boy on our hands!

His diet now consists of table food. He has loved everything we have given him so far, which is no surprise. He has the reputation of being a good eater. We have to tear up his food, for obvious reasons, and Jeremy said he felt like he was feeding a duck. I thought that was cute. After each meal, we are continuing to give him formula with extra calories just to make sure we are keeping up with his growth spurt. His growth "curve" actually has no curve to it and is basically going vertical, so we can't wait to see where he is in April at his 12 month checkup.

As far as motor skills and other developmental benchmarks, he is behind in some and ahead in some. Sitting up is still not mastered, but he is getting better. He has 4 consonant sounds he can make, which the doctor only expects 2 at this age. No teeth for us yet, but those could come in anytime before 18 months.

We could not be any prouder of or more thankful for our Bubby!

Getting the Hang of It...

Thank you to all of you who have given me tips and pointers on how to navigate this thing! I wanted to tell you that if you want to leave a comment, but you don't have an account, you can use the anonymous button and just sign your name at the bottom of the comment. That is what I did on the blog of a friend of mine and it worked just fine. Here is a picture of our little man at Christmas. I could never get it to post on Caring Bridge, so I just wanted to share. More updated ones to come!!

Relocation

The days of Caring Bridge are behind us. I have wanted to create a different blog for us for some time, I have just never taken the time to do it. I hope that this one will be able to help document Jude's milestones as he continues to flourish and grow. I hope to get back on the writing bandwagon again! After going through all of the caring bridge entries, I realized just how glad I was that I wrote about our experiences...I didn't realize how quickly I could forget things! I am going to work on adding pictures so you all can see just how big our boy is getting!!
